Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it the Caja Madrid logo? No, the spectacular green jaguar’s head which adorns the stage of the Galileo theatre this week is the set for Jumanji, the F2F summer camp week 4 show. Based on the film of the same name, the show tells the story of four high-school students who become trapped inside a video game. The plot of the original Jumanji film (1995) centered around a board game, however the sequel Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) was the inspiration for our show this week. As the four students begin to play the game, they choose their characters, or avatars. What they do no know is that they will literally become these avatars for the duration of the game, and if they do not win they risk being trapped in the game forever. Join Spencer, Bethany, Fridge and Martha – or should we say Dr Smoulder Bravestone, Professor Shelly Oberon, Moose Finbar and Ruby Roundhouse – as they live the adventure of their lives in a virtual jungle.

No, la espectacular cabeza de jaguar que adorna el escenario del teatro Galileo esta semana es el decorado de Jumanji, la función de la 4ª semana del campamento de verano de F2F. Basada en la película del mismo nombre, la obra cuenta la historia de cuatro alumnos de la ESO que se quedan atrapados dentro de un videojuego. La historia de la primera película de Jumanji (1995) se trata de un juego de mesa, pero fue la secuela Jumanji: Bienvenidos a la Selva (2017) que fue la inspiración para nuestra obra de esta semana. Cuando los cuatro alumnos comienzan a jugar el videojuego, eligen sus personajes, o avatares. Lo que no pueden saber es que se convertirán literalmente en estas personajes para la duración del juego, y que si no logran ganar se quedarán atrapados en el juego para siempre.
