Since Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” was published in 1843, this novel has become so popular in the English-speaking world that it is impossible to imagine Christmas without it. The story immediately inspired several stage adaptations and has since been performed in theatres around the world in hundreds of different ways. Now Face 2 Face Theatre Co, experts in the art of making people laugh, are performing a new adaptation with their own unique comic vision.
Set in London during the Victorian era, where the privileged prospered in their luxurious drawing rooms while the poor struggled to survive, “A Christmas Carol” speaks to all ages as it unravels the story of the cynical Ebenezer Scrooge.

With a heart hardened by a tragic childhood and a lost love, Scrooge would have preferred Christmas not to exist so that he could remain an unflappable miser, until one Christmas Eve, when he receives a terrifying visit from the three Christmas spirits: the Spirit of the Christmas Past, the Spirit of the Christmas Present and the Spirit of the Christmas Future, who show him his miserliness and awaken him from his reality.

Face 2 Face recreates the magic and humour of the original, while the audience laughs out loud and reflects on the joy of sharing. With its evocative songs, hilarious gags and theatrical magic based on mime and visual comedy, this play is the perfect Christmas present for all audiences with an intermediate level of English.

To prepare teachers for the show we provide a didactic dossier prepared by a group of philologists specialised in the English language, which contains exercises, games, vocabulary, reading comprehension and audio with phonetic exercises, extracts and songs from the work.

This material can be downloaded from our User’s Area quickly and easily with a code that we assign to each client. The main interest in the elaboration of the didactic dossier is that the students prepare it in the classroom before and after the theatrical performance in order to get the most out of the activity.
